Final Reflection

1. During the semester in Mrs. Fraser’s class we learned to write many different pieces. In “Inspiring Images” we took a photo that we liked and were able to write something about it. We could write a fictional story, a personal memory, or a vivid description. In another piece we did for Halloween, we got to write our own scary story. Mine was called “The Apocalypse.” I also read many really good stories that my classmates were able to come up with. We even used music as an inspiration for a couple of things we had to write. 2. I was able to read what other people thought of in their writing. I saw a lot of good ideas and creative writing. When we had to write a scary story for Halloween I saw what other people came up with and I thought a lot of them were really good. It helped me come up with so cool ideas to add into my story. 3. Setting up my blog was fun. I was able to design it how I wanted and I could post what’s been on my mind. This taught me how to open up and include my feelings in my different writings that I’ve done. The name of my blog was very simple. I like to be organized and know where everything’s at so the name of it is just “Creative Writing.” I think the people who read it were people who could relate to some of my posts. I want people to understand how I think and feel about certain things. I would like to continue writing in my blog as a diary. 4. I’ve never really liked writing in a journal. The things I have written were mostly about my day or fictional stories. I like to be as far away from reality as I can so I like to try to think of new stories to write to take my mind off of what’s going on around me. The only thing is, I have so many ideas that I can never stick to one thing and finish it. In the future I don’t think I will continue writing in it. It’s easy for me to lose interest in writing. Every once in a while I think I will write a little something in a journal. 5. When I was little my mom was my best friend. We always laughed and had fun together. One of my favorite memories of her was when we went to the park. We had just got my little dog, BlackJack, so he was only a few months old. I think I was 5 or 6 and my mom wanted to take BlackJack to the park for the first time. It was cloudy and grey like it was going to rain. While we were driving to the park it started to pour down rain. We thought it would pass over any minute so we just sat and waited in the car. 10 mins past and the rain didn’t slow down at all so we decided to go home. On our way we saw that the road in front of us was full of water. Other cars drove through with no problem, but I guess that because they had 4 wheel drive. My mom’s car didn’t. It didn’t look that deep so we started to drive through. Suddenly, the car stopped and was just floating. When I looked down there was water in the floor. It started to come in faster and faster. I had BlackJack in my lap but I didn’t know how deep the water was so I just held him above my head. Luckily a truck these really good looking guys were driving behind us so they saw what happened. They pulled over, got out and took their shirts off so they wouldn’t get wet, and helped push our car out of the water. While they were pushing, my mom was joking around and asked me which guy I thought was cute. They got our car out and pushed it into a parking lot. The car was flooded so we left it in the parking lot and walked home. Our house was only 5 blocks away so we didn’t have very far to walk. The streets were flooded everywhere so while we were walking home cars would drive through the puddles and splash us. We had the best time and I’m glad I have that memory of her. 6. The sky had turned a bright, bloody red. I could hear screams coming from outside my windows, but I was too afraid to look. All I could do was sit there, hoping and praying that the evil things wouldn’t find me. Suddenly, everything was quite. “What happened? Is it finally over?” I thought to myself. I got up and slowly walked to the door. Something didn’t seem right, I could feel it in my stomach. When I opened the door I saw a dark shadow crouching over my mother’s lifeless body. I could feel my face getting hot and tears streaming down my face. “Oh my God, what’s happening?” I whispered to myself. The dark shadow heard me, stood up and turned to look at me with piercing evil red eyes. Suddenly, it charged after me and I squeezed my eyes shut ready for it to tear my flesh. Nothing happened. I opened my eyes expecting to see the “thing” standing right in front of me, but all I saw was darkness. “It was only a dream.” I sighed with relief. TO BE CONTINUED. 7. In the future I plan on writing many stories. I like to think of new ideas to help me escape from reality. I like to imagine and be creative when I write. I never really like to write about the truth. Also, sometimes it’s hard for me to write about how I feel. I will focus on writing about the positive things and try to be inspired by other people writings. Writing creatively gives u an opportunity to find out new things about you. It gives you a chance to open your mind to new things and new ideas. In this writing you’re able to be more creative and less serious. Anything goes and there is no right or wrong answers. You can say anything. 8. Keep your mind open to new ideas. Don’t be afraid to express yourself in your writing. There’s never a right or wrong answer to anything you come up with. I learned that everything can be used to write about, from music to photos.

  1. From this, I can tell you've gotten the point of the class, that inspiration is everywhere for you to use if you choose to. I wish you had been able to do more of the work so that your grade would better reflect what I think you are capable of. I wish you all the best as you move on to new things...
